United Kingdom: Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong.

Dubai (VARA): Virtual Assets may lose their value in full or in part, and are subject to extreme volatility. The owner or investor in a Virtual Asset can lose all the money or other value they invest, and does not benefit from any form of financial protection.

Our services can only be used by professional or institutional investors. When investing, your capital is at risk. The value of an investment may go down as well as up and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

What the licence covers

  • Broker-Dealer Services: arranging orders for the purchase and sale of virtual assets between two entities; soliciting or accepting orders, and accepting fiat currency or other virtual assets for them; facilitating the matching of transactions; making a market using client assets; and placement, distribution or other issuance-related services.
  • Category 1 VA Issuance: the issuance activities in Schedule 1 of the Virtual Assets and Related Activities Regulations 2023. Issuing an asset-referenced virtual asset (ARVA) is a Category 1 issuance.

The licence condition

The register limits the licence. The entity may provide VA Broker-Dealer Services and VA Issuance Services to Qualified and Institutional Investors, under a VA Limited Licence, in the context of the tokenisation of ARVAs authorised by Dubai Land Department. The register names two tokens, TRE-1110 and TRE-A104, while the live site lists whitepapers for ten Dubai property tokens.

Those whitepapers name retail clients and qualified investors as the tokens' target market, reached through a separately licensed distributor, Prypco FZE (VARA licence VL/25/05/001). Distribution is that firm's activity under its own licence. The condition above is what applies to Ctrl Alt's own services.

What it does not cover

  • Services by Ctrl Alt to retail investors.
  • Any compensation scheme. An ARVA issued by the entity is not covered by any investor protection or deposit guarantee schemes.
  • Approval of a token's documents. The whitepaper for TRE-1110 says it was notified to VARA before issuance, that VARA has not verified its content, and that the project remains in a pilot phase.
